I am an artist and art student based in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Studying fine art alongside my practice creates opportunities to push me in new directions that continually inform my ideas. I have a broad interest in style and enjoy the freedom to produce work that feels intuitive and spontaneous responding to colour, emotions and my own experiences.

During the time my children were growing up, I pursued my passion for creating, by re-purposing found or used items and furniture. Using these found items that had a previous story evoked a curiosity in me. In my surroundings I found myself being drawn to the imprints left by everyday life, capturing these fleeting moments in photos, that then become part of the layers within my work.

I began to study art in 2017 with an Art and Design course, then continued this with short painting and drawing courses before beginning my current study of a Fine Art degree.

I love the freedom painting offers me for self-expression, indulging in the unexpected ways paint and collage can create texture and random marks that emerge during the creative process. I use a mix of media such as acrylic paint, charcoal, spray paints, acrylic inks and pastels, applying paints straight from the tube onto the surface which creates an unstructured interweave of colour and marks, engaging and inviting me to respond.  Its from these beginnings of frenzied explosive mark making, and collage, I begin to see the path of my composition, imagined from the inspiration that informs it, taking on a figurative or abstract presence.

This process enables me to work freely and intuitively, engaging my emotions to connect with each work.

I often recycle my old paintings, continuing the love of re-purposing old into new, leaving subtle traces of the past still visible.

I market my work locally through exhibitions, my website, and commissioned projects.

My website is regularly updated with new work and information.
